SAN ANGELO – The No. 6 Angelo State softball team will face its first Lone Star Conference road test against Eastern New Mexico on Friday, March 6 and Saturday, March 7 in Portales, N.M.
The Rambelles are 15-1 on the season and 2-0 in the LSC after a doubleheader sweep of Texas A&M-Kingsville last Sunday. ASU is off to its best start since the 2011 when the team started 17-1. The Rambelles are hitting .394 as a team this season while maintaining a 0.67 earned run average as a pitching staff.
The staff of
Brandy Marlett and
Kenedy Urbany has only allowed 23 total runs in 16 games. Marlett, the conference leader with 55 strikeouts, is 7-1 on the year. The freshman has a 0.50 ERA with four shutouts on the season. She has only allowed four earned runs this season and is limiting opponent to a .175 average. Urbany has been a perfect 8-0 on the season. The Helotes native has a 0.89 ERA while only allowed six earned runs this season. She has struck out 31 on the season and has a conference low opponent batting average of .173.
ASU's offense is led by six hitters over .400 on the season.
Lanie Robinson is tops with a .480 average on the year. She has 12 hits with two doubles on the year. The Hitchcock native has scored five runs and batted in five runs. The junior has drawn four walks and leads the team with a .567 on-base percentage.
Micherie Koria hit her second double of the season against Texas A&M-Kingsville. The senior is hitting .447 on the year and is tied for the team lead with 13 runs scored. She also leads the team with 15 stolen bases to go with her 10 RBIs. Koria has currently reached base safely in 16-straight games.
Ambra Hill has used her speed to hit for .450 in 20 at-bats this season. She has nine hits and has scored 11 runs. The Big Spring native has one triple and seven RBIs on the season. She is second on the team with a .560 on-base percentage.
Urbany is producing at the plate as well. She is hitting .444 with 20 hits. She has three doubles, one triple and leads ASU with four home runs. The sophomore is second on the team with 15 RBIs and has drawn nine walks. She is tops on the team with a .822 slugging percentage.
Rachel Moore leads the Rambelles with 16 RBIs on the season this year. She has a .432 average with 19 hits and four doubles. Moore has four home runs on the season and 24 in her career. The Katy native leads the team with four multi-RBI games.
Madison Greenwell is tied for the team lead with 13 runs scored. She has recorded 19 hits with two doubles and two triples. The freshman has stolen eight bases and drove in eight runs.
Tina Cisneros has been on a role as of late. She has hit .750 in the last four games and has four RBIs. The senior has improved her season average to .385. She has four doubles, one triple and one home run this season. She has scored nine runs and drove in 11 RBIs.
Megan Granado continues to use her plate discipline to lead ASU with 12 walks. She has an on-base percentage of .521. The Lubbock native has scored seven runs and used four doubles to record six RBIs.
Ciara Sheppard is hitting .348 on the year. She has eight hits, two doubles and one home run. The Midland native has five RBIs and scored six runs. Fellow freshman
Camry Weinheimer is also hitting .348. The Fredericksburg native has scored five runs and batted in eight RBIs.
Darian Dunn, one of five Rambelles with double-digit RBIs, hit her first home run of the season against UTPB. The junior has drawn six walks this season and has two doubles. Dunn's 10 RBIs is tied for fourth best on the team.

Brooke Mangold each recording at least one hit on the season.
Eastern New Mexico enters with a record of 12-4 overall and 4-0 at home. The Zias first LSC series was cancelled due to weather. ENMU is hitting .366 at the plate. Kyra Sirag's .44 average is leading the team while Aurelia Sandoval is the team leader in RBIs with 17. Â The Zias pitching staff has a 4.06 earned run average with Kiana Kerr on top with a 3.17 ERA. Aja Secheslingloff has the best record on the staff at 8-2.
The Rambelles hold a 41-7 series advantage over ENMU including winning the last four games. ASU is 15-5 all-time in Portales since 2002. Â
