SAN ANGELO - The Angelo State tennis team will play a pair of matches this weekend, including the first home tennis match on ASU's campus in more than 30 years on Saturday.

The Belles are currently 1-0 on the season after defeating Hardin-Simmons 9-0 on the road in Abilene last week.

ASU will be traveling to Fort Worth for the first match of the weekend, taking on Texas Weslyan at 2 p.m. on Thursday before coming back home for a historic  return to campus at 10 a.m. on Saturday against St. Edward's.

Admission to the match on Saturday is free and food will also be provided to fans in attendance with breakfast burritos before the match and pizza for lunch. Following the completion of the match, fans are welcomed to take part in a community play day and get on the court with members of the team.

The Belles used doubles pairings of Maria Delgadillo/Ena Ovcina, Zoe Gubbels/Lucie Maitrot and Yasmine Ansari/Virginie Becht in their season-opening match last week and saw all three earn wins.

All six ASU starters also got wins in the first singles competition as well. Delgadillo leads the team with a 7-2 record in the fall and spring combined with Maitrot right behind at 6-4.

Gubbels is 5-4 on the season, while both Melanie Dreux and Ena Ovcina enter the weekend 4-5. Ansari's first and only match with the team came against Hardin-Simmons, so the Morocco native has a perfect 1-0 record.
