SAN ANGELO – The Angelo State men's basketball team will look to continue their strong start to the season as they take on Cameron and Midwestern State at home this weekend.
The Rams are led by Antonio Singleton, who is averaging 14.3 points and 3.9 rebounds per contest while shooting 51 percent from the field and 48 percent from the three point line. He is joined in double figures by Ronald Bell, Daron Mims, and Kiair Crouch. Bell averages 12.3 points and 6.6 rebounds per game while shooting 46 percent from the field. Mims is averaging 11.8 points and 2.2 rebounds per contest, and Crouch is averaging 10.2 points per game while shooting 39 percent from three point range.
Josh Boutte, James Kirksey, Collin Turner, and Paul Williams have all been key contributors for the Rams this season. Boutte is averaging 8.3 points and a team leading 7.4 rebounds per game. Kirksey has been the best all around player for the team and is averaging 7.9 points, 5.4 rebounds, 2.9 assists, and 2.3 steals per game. Turner and Williams combine to average 13 points per game and Williams shoots 85 percent from the free throw line, which leads the team.
Cameron comes into Thursday's contest with a record of 6-11 (2-5 LSC). They have only won once away from home this season.
Midwestern State comes into Saturday's contest with a record of 6-11 (2-5 LSC). They have also won a single game on the road this year.
