Belles Travel for Two-Game Series

SAN ANGELO, Texas – The Angelo State University soccer team heads to Wichita Falls, Texas, and Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to take on Midwestern State University and Oklahoma Christian on Thursday, October 3 and Saturday, October 5, respectively. First kick is slated for 7 p.m. on Thursday and 1 p.m. on Saturday.

The Game
Angelo State heads to Wichita Falls, Texas, with a 7-3 series road record against the Mustangs. Since 2007, ASU leads the all-time series, 11-5-2. The Belles have averaged 1.33 goals against MSU in the series. The Blue and Gold have totaled 24 goals and are on a four-game win streak against the Mustangs.
 
Angelo State enters the weekend 5-1-1 on the season and 1-0-1 in conference play. This will be the third meeting between Oklahoma Christian and ASU since 2013. The Belles lead the all-time series, 2-0.
 
Last Time Out
The Belles hosted Texas A&M International University on Saturday, September 28 and tied, 3-3, in a double overtime thriller. At the half, ASU led 1-0 and quickly increased the lead, 2-0, within the first 30 seconds of the second half. The Dustdevils answered back in less than a minute to trail, 2-1. In the 76th minute of the game, the Belles took the lead back, 3-2, off a rebound from a free kick. The Dustdevils forced an OT period in the 84th minute to tie the game, 3-3, and neither team was able to come through for the victory in two overtime periods.
 
Notable Players
True freshman Valerie Solis leads the Belles offense with four goals, three assists, and 11 points. She has notched a .400 shooting percentage and has one game winning goal.
 
Emily Keoughan ranks second on the team with two goals and five assists for nine points. She holds a .545 shot on goal percentage with six shots on target on 11 shots.
 
In the net, Kira Miller has recorded 642:35 minutes. She has tallied 24 saves and a 0.800 save percentage. She has a 0.84 goals against average with only six goals allowed. She has notched four shutouts and a 5-1-1 record.

Following the games against Midwestern State and Oklahoma Christian, the Belles return home for homecoming weekend to host Lubbock Christian on Thursday, October 10 and the University of Texas – Permian Basin on Saturday, October 12. Thursday's game will be a pink game in support of Breast Cancer Awareness. First kick is slated for 7 p.m. on Thursday and 1 p.m. on Saturday, respectively.
