PORTALES, N.M. – The Angelo State University Belle soccer team defeated the Eastern New Mexico University Greyhounds, 1-0, on Saturday afternoon.
In Case You Missed It:
- The Belles out shot ENMU, 5-3, in the first half as neither team was able to come out with a goal.
- In the 51st minute of the game, Ally Warren dribbled up the field and passed across to Avery McNeme, who hit Chloe Souza in the ENMU zone to hit the back left corner of the net to put the Belles on the board, 1-0, and claim the victory.
- Angelo State out shot Eastern New Mexico, 6-3, in the second half.
- The Belles tallied five shots on goal, while ENMU had two.
Coach McCorkle's Comments:
"I think we learned we can work harder when needed and we can be a little tougher when needed. It's a good boost for us to get the shutout win today."
Key Players:
- Souza led the offense, scoring the only goal for the Belles.
- McNeme notched two shots with both landing on target and one assist.
- Gabby Villagrand and Trenadey Scott each tallied two shots while four other players tallied one shot.
- Warren registered one assist.
- In goal, Kira Miller recorded two saves and her sixth shutout of the season.

Angelo State returns home to host Texas A&M – Commerce on Thursday, October 24 followed by the University of Texas at Tyler on Saturday, October 26 for senior night. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m. on Thursday and 1 p.m. on Saturday.
