No. 21 Rams Head to Eastern New Mexico

SAN ANGELO, Texas – The No. 21 Angelo State University football team steps back into conference action and heads to Portales, New Mexico, to take on the Eastern New Mexico University Greyhounds on Saturday, November 9. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m.

The Game
The No. 21 Angelo State Rams head to Portales, New Mexico to take on conference opponent Eastern New Mexico. ASU leads the all-time sereis, 25-18-1. The last time these two teams met was November 3, 2018, where the Rams defeated the Greyhounds 34-17 in San Angelo. Since 2006, the Blue and Gold are 4-2 in Portales, N.M.
 
Scouting Eastern New Mexico
The Greyhounds enter the weekend with a 5-4 record overall and 3-4 in conference play. ENMU traveled to Odessa, Texas, to take on the University of Texas Permian Basin Falcons and fell 48-38. Quarterback Wyatt Strand has tallied 689 yards on 55 completions and has thrown six touchdowns. Paul Terry, conference leader, carries the rushers with 1448 yards on 252 carries. Terry averages 160.9 yards a game and has nine touchdowns. Zachery Fields leads the receivers with 277 yards and three touchdowns on 22 receptions. Fields averages 30.8 yards a game.
 
Last Time Out
The Rams side stepped out of conference action and headed to Alamosa, Colorado, to take on in-region opponent Adams State on November 2. The No. 21 Rams defeated the Grizzlies, 41-21. Manning had an incredible outing, notching a single game career-high of three touchdowns. The San Angelo, Texas native finished the night with 48 yards rushing on 15 attempts with one touchdown and 42 yards receiving with two touchdowns on five receptions. He finished with 90 all-purpose yards. Kaleb King led the rushers with 112 yards on 14 carries and two touchdowns, while Keke Chism led the receivers with 100 yards on six receptions. Payne Sullins went 17-of-23 for 211 yards and threw two touchdowns. The defense had a major hand in the victory with four interceptions and six breakups. Hunter Kyle, Devin Washington and Cristion Brown all grabbed interceptions. Washington had two of the four.

The Rams return home for Senior Day to host No. 24 Texas A&M-Commerce on Saturday, November 16. Kickoff is scheduled for 3 p.m.
