SAN ANGELO – The Angelo State women's tennis team opened up their spring season with a 7-0 victory over Texas Wesleyan.

At number one doubles, the duo of Valentina Gonzalez and Ena Ovcina won 6-0. At the number two slot, Virginie Becht and Zoe Gubbels won 6-1, and at number three doubles Maria Delgadillo and Lucie Maitrot won 6-3.

The team swept the singles as well, with Gonzlaez winning 6-1, 6-1, Ovcina winning 6-1, 6-4, Delgadillo winning 6-0, 6-0, Gubbels winning 6-0, 6-0, Yasmine Ansari winning 6-0, 6-1, and Maitrot winning 6-3, 6-0.

The team will be in action again this weekend as they take on Dallas Baptist and St. Mary's.
