SAN ANGELO, TX – The Rams and Aggies were to face off in a battle for first place in the Lone Star Conference standings to defend their 6-2 LSC records. It was ultimately the Rams who came away with their seventh conference win of the season 18 runs and one lightning delay later.
The Rams held the Aggies to only four hits in seven innings, and zero of which were extra base hits. It was Shannon Broussard who stifled Cameron at the plate as the Baytown southpaw threw for six innings and gave up only three hits while striking out four and walking three, holding his opposition to a .176 average.Â
Angelo State had plenty of impressive performances throughout the lineup with 15 hits, a double, a triple, and three home runs. Nicholas Novak, Josh Elvir, and Nick Seginowich all finished 2-3 on the day. Novak and Seginowich also drove in three runs each. Joe Scott Pace also electrified the crowd with a two run home run over the left field fence, but with his thunder came lightning and play would have to wait 30 minutes to resume.
Parker Bramlett had a career performance on the night, with a web gem play and a 4-4 performance at the plate with four RBI, three runs scored, and going only a home run short of the cycle.
The two teams will once again face off on Saturday starting at 4 p.m. in doubleheader fashion.
