Hot Bats Continue to Lead Rams to Victory over Cameron

SAN ANGELO, TX – The Rams had once again shown fans at home why they belong in the top 10 national rankings this weekend with their performances in the first three games against the Cameron Aggies. After outscoring their opponents 50-10 Friday and Saturday, the Rams added 11 more runs to that total on Sunday in their series finale.

The dual threat of the Rams lineup is that even whenever they can't manufacture runs through small-ball and aggressive base running, they have plenty of hitters that can drive the ball deep. It was their power at the plate that got the ball rolling for them Sunday, as Josh Elvir took a huge lefty hack that sent a ball soaring over the scoreboard in right-center field. The ASU lefties would continue to be a problem for the Aggies as Nick Novak drove in the Rams' second run of the day with another solo shot that was hit on a line into the visitor's bullpen. It was Novak's second homerun of the series.

The Aggies started playing catch up in the top of the fourth inning when they plated two runs of their own but were soon overtaken by the Rams once again. Back to back doubles from Jackson Hardy and Jacob Finke kickstarted the ASU scoring effort this time as they would bring in four runs on five hits and an error.

Both teams were unable to get on the board for fifth, sixth, and seventh innings until the Aggies continued to be haunted by Nick Seginowich once more. It was a familiar sight for Cameron as Seginowich sent his fifth home run of the series over the left-center fence for his second grand slam of the season.

Cameron would not be able to bridge the nine-run gap they faced heading into the ninth inning and the game would end 11-4 in favor of the Rams.

Home fans don't have to wait long to see Rams Baseball in action as they stay home to take on the St. Edward's Hilltoppers in a single game on Tuesday, April 9 at 6 p.m.
