Rams Host No. 15 Midwestern State

SAN ANGELO, Texas – The Angelo State University football team hosts No. 15 Midwestern State University on Saturday, September 28 for Family Day. Kickoff is slated for 6 p.m.

The Game
Angelo State hosts Midwestern State University on Saturday. The Blue and Gold trail in the all-time series to MSU, 14-7. These two teams met last season with MSU pulling out the victory, 57-36. Charlie Rotherham threw for 260 yards on 35 completions with 44 attempts. Lawson Ayo was the leading receiver with 118 yards on 11 receptions.
 
Midwestern State
The Mustangs come to LeGrand Stadium at 1st Community Credit Union with a 2-0 record. They opened conference play against the University of Texas - Permian Basin and came out with a hard-fought victory, 14-8. Quinton Childs, its top running back, rushed for a career-high 174 yards to lead the No. 16 Mustangs to victory.
 
Last Time Out
The Rams traveled to Kingsville, Texas, to open conference action against Texas A&M - Kingsville, where they claimed a 44-7 victory. Keke Chism led the offense with a career-high 194 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Chism received a career-long 74 yard pass in the fourth quarter to seal the victory for the Rams, 44-7.
 
Player to Watch
Lawson Ayo is on the verge of a breaking the receiving yard record. Ayo is 480 yards away from the school record. He finished last season with over 1,000 receiving yards, as he entered his senior season. Ayo made a great outing against TAMUK, registering 86 receiving yards with one touchdown and has accumulated 172 yards on the season.
