EDMOND, Oklahoma – A big four run inning helped carry the Angelo State University baseball team to a three-game series sweep over Oklahoma Christian University on Monday afternoon.
The Rams extend their win streak to 6-0 on the season and in conference play to remain undefeated.
In Case You Missed It:
- Both teams went scoreless in the first inning get off to slow starts.
- The Rams picked up speed quick in the top of the second inning though. Bramlett led off, hitting a single to left field. Riley Peterson was hit by a pitch to advance Bramlett to second. Both runners advanced on a wild pitch placing them in scoring position. Nick Seginowich stepped up to the plate and singled to the pitcher allowing Bramlett to score to give ASU a 1-0 lead.
- Halfway through the second inning, Jordan Williams scored Peterson off an error by the Eagles to push the Rams lead to 2-0. After a pitching change by OCU, Seginowich was able to score the final run of the inning off a wild pitch to extend the lead to 3-0.
- The Eagles managed to score one run in the bottom of the second to trail 3-1 and close in on the lead.
- Oklahoma Christian scored two more runs in the bottom of the third and one run in the bottom of the fifth to hold ASU to three scoreless innings and take its first lead of the game at 4-3.
- The Blue and Gold tied the game once more at the top of the sixth as Seginowich hit a leadoff homer over the left field wall to tie the game 4-4.
- The eighth inning helped seal the win for the Rams as Seginowich, Josh Elvir, Williams, and Brad Mathiowetz all scored runs to extend the Rams lead to 8-4.
- Elvir smashed a double to left field to grab his first hit of the game to score Jackson Hardy to give ASU the 9-4 victory and sweep of the series.

Nick Seginowich play like his All-American self. Showed a lot of toughness finding a way to sweep on the road in tough conditions against a good team. Proud of our effort."
Key Players:
- The Rams finished with 13 hits, one error and nine runs.
- Bramlett and Seginowich led the offense with both going 3-for-5 from the plate. Seginowich registered two RBI and three runs while Bramlett had one RBI and one run.
- Kyle Moseley grabbed his first collegiate win after pitching 2.2 innings and striking out five batters.

Angelo State returns home for its first four-game series of the season beginning on Friday, February 14, as Cameron University comes to Foster Field at First Community Credit Union Field. First pitch is scheduled for 3 p.m.
