SAN ANGLEO, Texas – The Angelo State Rambelle softball team wrapped up the George and Ola McCorkle with two more wins against the Texas A&M International Dustdevils and the No. 21 Tarleton State Texans, going undefeated in their home tournament.
The Rambelles move to a 13-3 overall season.
Against Texas A&M International:
Top of the 3
rd Inning:
Paxton Scheurer would show off her pitching skills as she would strike out one batter, and let her defense backup her up as one Dustdevil would line out to the shortstop, and another would fly out to shortstop as well.
Bottom of the 3
rd Inning:
- Courtney Barnhill would hit her first home run of the season as she cracked a ball out of the park over the center field fence, putting her one step closer to tying the all-time home run record for Angelo State. The Rambelles would take a 1-0 lead over Texas A&M International.
Top of the 4
th Inning:
Scheurer would throw three up and three down as the Dustdevils would fly out to the left fielder and ground out to the shortstop and third baseman.
Bottom of the 4
th:
- Karina Rocha would start the Rambelles offense going once again as she cracked another homerun out of the park for Angelo State over the left field fence, extending the Rambelles lead to 2-0.
- Hatty Shope would get hit by a pitch, sending her to first with Avery Zeigler coming to the plate for ASU. Shope would get caught stealing second however, with Zeigler being walked to first as well.
- Keilei Garcia hit a single down the right field line, scoring Zeigler from first base and extending the Rambelles lead further to 3-0.
- Jade Strother would also get hit by a pitch, walking to first and advancing Garcia to second base.
- Maleya Burns would crank a single out to center field, advancing to second and scoring both Garcia and Strother for two RBI, bringing the score to 5-0, Angelo State.

th Inning:
Texas A&M International would hit a single home run to cut the Rambelles lead to 5-1, but Scheurers pitching abilities quickly took care of the next three batters, striking out one batter, with the other two grounding out to the pitcher and the third baseman.
Bottom of the 5
th:
- Scheurer singled into left field, with Meagan Hill pinch running for Scheurer. Rocha would strike out swinging, but Hill would steal second base for ASU.
- Hill would advance to third base when Madison Fernandez would hit a grounder to the first baseman, getting the second out for ASU.
- Shope would smack a double out into center field, recording an RBI for herself as Hill would score another run for the Rambelles, extending their lead back to five, 6-1.
- The Rambelle defense would keep the Dustdevils from scoring anymore runs, keeping their five run lead over Texas A&M International and chalking up another win for the weekend, 6-1.

The Rambelles defense stood fast behind their pitcher,
Meagan Hill, against the Texans, catching several fly balls and one grounder to bring three outs against three Texan batters to end the top of the second inning.

th Inning:
Genesis Armendariz would come in sharp relief of Hill in her pitching, striking out two Texan batters, with another batter grounding out to third base and leaving a runner on second base.
Bottom of the 4
th Inning:
- Karina Rocha would hit a single into the left field, with Megan Gordon pinch running for Rocha. Madison Fernandez would step up to the plate and get hit by a pitch, walking her to first and advancing Gordon to second.
- Hatty Shope would hit a single into right field, advancing Fernandez to third and Gordon would attempt to run home, but would be thrown out at the plate from the right fielder. Ashlyn Lerma would come in to pinch run for Fernandez.
- Shope would steal second with Keilei Garcia up to bat for the Rambelles, who would be hit by a pitch, advancing to first.
- Maleya Burns would reach first on a fielders' choice, advancing Garcia to second base and Shope to third, but Lerma would be thrown out at home by the shortstop.
- Avery Zeigler would reach first base on a walk, advancing Burns to second, Garcia to third, and scoring Shope, bringing the Rambelles to a 1-0 lead over the Texans.
- Jade Strother would reach first on an error from the third baseman, advancing Zeigler to second base and scoring both Garcia and Burns. Angelo State would take a 3-0 lead over Tarleton State.

th Inning:
Armendariz would stay calm and collected in the circle, as she let the Rambelle defense work their magic against the Texan offense. Several Texans would make it to base with one scoring a run to cut the Belles lead down to two before Zeigler would catch a foul ball for the third out.
Top of the 7
th Inning:
The Texan offense would have one more attempt to take the lead from Angelo State and potentially winning the game. A single home run from Tarleton State brought the Texans within reach of taking the lead from the Rambelles, cutting their lead down to one, 3-2, but the Rambelles would rally behind Armendariz and quickly get three outs against Tarleton State. One batter would ground out to the third baseman, another would be thrown out advancing to second from by Shope, and the final out would come from Zeigler, ending the game in favor of the Rambelles over the Tarleton State Texans, 3-2.

The Rambelles take a weekend off to rest and recuperate as they begin conference play on the road as they face off against the Oklahoma Christian Eagles on Friday, February 28 in a double header and against the Cameron Aggies on Sunday, March 1 in another double header. Game times on Friday begin at 2 p.m. and 4:30 p.m., while the games on Sunday will start at 1 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.
