Dallas, Texas – In a match where the Belles didn't get off to the best of starts, they showed their quality on the court this afternoon in Dallas, bouncing back from dropping the opening set to DBU to claim their 10
th straight victory and stay undefeated in LSC play.
The Belles struggled in the first set, only hitting .145 as a team and allowing three DBU service aces.
They would rebound in set two, hitting .441, making only three attack errors; they would almost equal that number in the fourth and final set, recording 20 kills in the set and hitting .432 while chipping in eight digs.
Kailyn Gilbreath picked up where she left off last night, recording 21 of the Belles 68 kills and hitting .421 for the match. She also assisted 33 times in the match as the Belles hit .307 as a team, their fifth time this season clearing the .300 mark.
Elsa Lamphere recorded double-digit kills in consecutive matches for the first time this season, with 15 kills after recording 11 kills last night.
Grace White and
Baleigh Allen both recorded ten kills; White did not commit an error in 18 attempts while Allen only committed two in 17 attempts; the pair hit .556 and .471, respectively.
Jaedyn Woolley recorded 20 assists off the bench, her third match in a row assisting 20 or more times. The freshman also added in a career-high eight digs on the defensive side of the ball.
At the net, Allen and Gilbreath both recorded four block assists, while on the back line,
Delaney Fuller and
Chloe Patton each dug 18 Lady Patriot attacks, with that number being a season high for Fuller, who also recorded six kills of her own;
Makenna Hanssen got 11 digs of her own.
The Belles are now 16-2 on the season and 9-0 in conference play. They return home next weekend to host Texas A&M-Commerce in their "Dig Pink" match on Friday before hosting #18 UT Tyler on Saturday.
