SAN ANGELO – The Belles, coming off a week where they won at home and drew on the road, continue to make their push for postseason play with matches this week against Lubbock Christian on the road and UT Tyler at home on Saturday.
The Belles defeated #19 West Texas A&M last week before drawing 2-2 with Texas A&M-Commerce in East Texas.
The Belles are 9-2-2 on the season and 4-2-2 in conference play. They have won all seven of their home matches and are 2-2-2 on the road this season. Their 33 goals scored is third best in the LSC while their nine goals allowed are second-best in the conference.
The Belles currently sit on 14 points in conference play, which puts them fourth in the standings.
As a team, the Belles rank sixth in the country in total assists with 30 assists on their 33 goals scored.
Individually,
Avery McNeme and
Valerie Solis are first and second in the conference with eight and seven assists, respectively, putting them fifth and ninth in the country in that category.
Kira Miller, coming off a week where she was named the LSC Goalkeeper of the Week for the second time this season, is tied for the most shutouts in the conference with seven and has played the most minutes of any player in the LSC this season, being in goal for all 1,210 minutes of action this season.
SCOUTING THE LADY CHAPS
Lubbock Christian is 7-2-2 on the season and 4-2-1 in conference play; on 13 points, they are currently fifth in the conference standings with six matches left.
The Belles have never lost to the Lady Chaps in the regular season, winning three times, including twice this past spring. Their lone loss to LCU came in the LSC Tournament in 2019, with a scoreless draw resulting in LCU advancing in the tournament on penalty kicks.
They have scored only 17 goals in 11 matches, allowing 11 goals from their opponents this season; they also commit the least number of fouls in the LSC, only averaging 4.2 fouls per game.
Allison Scott and Makenna Pate have scored four times each for the Lady Chaps while goalkeeper Hannah Wise has four wins this season, all of which are shutouts, and has made 37 saves in eight matches played.
SCOUTING THE PATRIOTS
UT Tyler is 4-6 overall on the season and 2-5 in conference play; they are currently sitting 11
th in the LSC standings with six points. This marks the first matchup between the Belles and the Patriots.
The Patriots have scored 19 goals and have allowed 21 goals in ten matches. Jordan Colbert leads the team with four goals scored while Faith Adje has three goals and two assists on the season. In goal, Camri Cecil has a pair of shutout wins while making 24 saves in eight matches.
After this week, the Belles will only have one match in the following week, with a match on October 30
th in Denton against Texas Woman's.
