SAN ANGELO – In a tight back-and-forth match Thursday night to cap off the quarterfinals of the LSC Tournament, the Belles went toe-to-toe with eight-seed UT Permian Basin, trading blows with the Falcons, with the visitors ultimately claiming victory in five sets.
The Falcons took the odd-numbered sets (25—22, 25-20, 15-11) while the Belles took sets two and four (25-17, 25-18).
On the match, the Belles recorded more kills, assists, and digs than the Falcons, with the visitors recording six service aces to the Belles' three and 14 blocks to the hosts' eight. The Belles also hit .155 against the visitors .129 hitting percentage.
Kailyn Gilbreath and
Elsa Lamphere led the way with a match-high 14 kills. Gilbreath recorded her fourth triple-double in as many matches with 27 assists and 14 digs.
Delaney Fuller recorded another double-double with 12 kills and 20 digs while
Grace White tallied 11 kills and hit .381 for the match.
Chloe Patton recorded a match-high 33 digs and
Jaedyn Woolley assisted 26 times off the bench.
The Belles will now wait to find out their postseason fate, with the NCAA selection show set for Monday night at 6:30 p.m.
