SAN ANGELO, Texas – The 13
th-ranked Angelo State tennis team will travel to Edmond, Okla., this weekend as the Belles compete at the ITA Division II Indoor Championship at the Edmond Center Court hosted by Central Oklahoma.
In its second year, the tournament showcases eight of the top women's Division II teams in the three-day tournament to crown an indoor national champion. Last year, Barry University took home the inaugural trophy.
The Belles will enter the tournament as the sixth seed and take on third-seeded West Florida in the opening match of the event. West Florida enters the weekend ranked seventh overall in Division II.
Angelo State is coming off its first official weekend of competition, opening the spring season with a 2-1 record after picking up wins against Ouachita Baptist and Southern Arkansas.
Ena Ovcina has been a dominant force for the Belles early in the season, winning all six of her singles matches while going 4-0 in doubles play. Through 10 matches, she hasn't dropped a single set, sweeping every opponent she has faced so far.

Zoe Gubbels,
Ayda Guler, and
Anna Schneemann with three wins each.
Valentina Gonzalez has started a perfect 2-0 at the No. 1 spot to begin duel play while partnering with Ovcina to go 3-0 in doubles.
Doubles has been a strong point for the Belles to begin the year, dropping only one match as they hold a combined 14-1 record.
