Undefeated Belles Host St. Edward's on Wednesday

SAN ANGELO, Texas – The Angelo State women's soccer team brings its undefeated record home this week as the Belles host St. Edward's on Wednesday at the ASU Soccer Field at 6 p.m.
 
This will be the second time this season ASU faces off against the Hilltoppers after the Belles opened the spring season at SEU with a 1-0 victory. Emily Keoughan scored the game-winner against the Hilltoppers with 15 seconds left to play in the opening half. The Hilltoppers landed only three shots on goal while ASU keeper Casey Crawford earned a shutout in her first career start in goal.
 
LAST WEEK:
The Belles improved to 3-0 last week after picking up a 1-0 road victory at Lubbock Christian, defeating the Lady Chaps twice in a four-day span. Angelo State opened the Lone Star Conference season with a win, LCU to only four shots in the match while Gabby Villagrand scored her first goal of the season.

ALL-TIME SERIES: SEU leads the all-time series 13-5-2. Last Meeting: ASU, 1-0
Angelo State is currently riding a three-match win streak over the Hilltoppers, sweeping both games last season while opening up the spring campaign with a victory. The Belles have outscored SEU 4-1 in those contests while the Hilltoppers last won during the 2015 season, a 1-0 win in San Angelo.
 
SCOUTING LUBBOCK CHRISTIAN:
After beginning the season with two losses, the Hilltoppers picked up their first win of the season in their LSC opener, defeating Texas A&M International 3-0. SEU redeemed its loss a few days early to the Dustdevils, losing 2-1 in Laredo.
 
The Hilltoppers rank fourth in the league in shots this season with 49, averaging 7.67 shots on goal per match. Katie Gay is the point leader for SEU, recording two goals while Wren Blachette and MaryAnne Crowe each have one goal.

The Belles rank sixth in the league in goals scored with five through three games and are fifth in shots on goal per game with 6.33. Each of ASU's goals has been scored by a different player with Cindy Rodriguez leading in points with four after tallying one goal and two assists. Crawford leads the conference in goals against average at .485, allowing one goal in 185 minutes played. She also ranks sixth in save percentage at .800.
