SAN ANGELO – An all-ASU doubles final at the ITA Regionals, on the campus of Angelo State, guaranteed that either the Belles' pairing of Valentina Gonzalez and Ena Ovcina or Ramitha Irrinki and Ayda Guler would claim the regional title over their teammates.

In straight sets, Gonzalez and Ovcina, who entered the tournament as the top overall seed on the doubles side, defeated their teammates 6-3, 6-3 to clinch a spot at the ITA Cup on October 14-17 in Rome, Georgia.

On the singles side, Gonzalez and teammate Dianela Rodriguez both lost their semifinal matches, with Gonzalez falling to eventual winner Maria Garcia of St. Mary's while Rodriguez was bested by reigning LSC Player of the Year Taylor Leslie of DBU.

The Belles continue their fall schedule in two weeks' time, competing at the Collin County Invite.
