The No. 22 ranked Rams continue the season on the road as they look for their second straight road victory, this time taking on the Eagles of Chadron State on Saturday, Sept. 11 at 2 p.m. CST.

LAST WEEK:
Knocking off a top-25 ranked team to begin the season, the Rams defeated No. 21 Lindenwood 40-20 on the road, putting together an all-around performance. The defense started things off with a safety before ASU's running core collected three rushing touchdowns on the day while the defense was responsible for nine points including a pick six by
Andrew Pitts.
Nathaniel Omayebu III finished with two touchdowns on the ground to lead the Rams.

SERIES HISTORY: ANGELO STATE vs. CHADRON STATE
All-Time Series: Series tied 1-1
Last Meeting: Saturday will be the third meeting between these squads with both the Rams and Eagles earning a win. Angelo State defeated Chadron on the road in the program's first meeting, winning 49-42 nearly 10 years ago, on Sept. 10, 2011. The Eagles evened the series the next year, winning in San Angelo 19-7.

SCOUTING CHADRON STATE:
The Eagles dropped their season opener last week, losing to Western Colorado 23-10 on the road to begin the RMAC season 0-1. Chadron State is coming off a 2-2 record in the shortened 2020 season, defeating South Dakota Mines twice while going 6-5 overall in the 2019 season.

Defensively, the Eagles return all 15 of their leading tacklers from last fall, including Travis Wilson, who led the RMAC in tackles with 124 in 2019. Behind center for Chadron State is Dalton Holst who is entering his fifth season at quarterback, counting last year's shortened slate, and has compiled 698 passes for 9,115 yards and 76 touchdowns.

Against the Mountaineers, Chadron State outgained Western Colorado 317 yards to 301, tallying 176 yards on the ground. The Mountaineers finished with 231 yards through the air while winning the turnover battle with two forced fumbles. Holst threw for 141 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions while Elijah Myles collected 162 yards on the ground with 21 attempts.

SUCCESS ON THE GROUND:
The running game for the Rams picked up right where it left off a season ago, tallying 186 yards rushing while collecting three TDs on the ground against the Lions.

LSC OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK:
With 127 yards rushing and a touchdown, ASU running back
CJ Odom was named the Lone Star Conference Offensive Player of the Week. Odom ran for a long of 46-yards, averaging 12.7 yards per carry.

CLIMBING THE RANKS:
After receiving votes in the AFCA Preseason Coaches' Top 25 Poll, the Rams' win over No. 21 Lindenwood propelled them into the Top 25 in this week's poll, sitting at the No. 22 spot now.

STOPPING THE RUN:
The Rams showed their strength against Lindenwood, holding the Lions to a net of only 29 yards rushing on the day.

SHARING THE WEALTH:
The receiving core of Angelo State was able to find some open field against the Lions as
Zorhan Rideaux finished with three catches for 86 yards,
Kellen Pachot collected five catches for 85 yards while
Noah Massey tallied three catches for 31 yards in his first game as a Ram.

DEFENSE STANDOUTS:
- Pitts earned the first defensive touchdown of the season, returning a pick six 26 yards for the score.
- In his first game back with the Rams, Hunter Kyle collected a team-high seven tackles.
- Donavyn Jackson was responsible for the first points of the season, forcing a safety against Lindenwood.
- Daron Allman finished with five tackles against the Lions and forced one fumble.
