Rambelles Use Late Comeback to Down Cameron

Lawton, Okla. – Coming off their first conference loss last night to No. 15 West Texas A&M, the Angelo State volleyball team nearly suffered their second loss in less than 24 hours at the hands of Cameron; however, a late scoring run in set four saw the Rambelles stave off elimination before dominating the fifth and final set to claim the victory.

After hitting .088 in the first three sets, the Belles only committed two attack errors over the final two sets, hitting .425 with their backs against the wall.

With the score tied 20-all in the fourth set, the Belles scored five of the set's last six points to win the set 25-21.

After the score was tied 4-all in the final set, the Belles ended the match on an 11-1 scoring run, led by three kills each from Kaila Garnett and Grace White and a pair of kills from Sam Rodgers to start the run.

All in all, the Belles ended the match with a 20-6 scoring run, holding the Aggies to one kill in that run.

With the win, the Belles extend their winning streak over the Aggies to 22 matches, dating back to 2007.

Sydney Mundkowsky led all players with a match-high 13 kills; Garnett was also in double figures with ten kills, only committing one attacking error and hitting .333 for the match.

Hannah Kinnison added eight kills and 20 digs, while libero Caleigh Enax notched a match-high 21 digs.

Kayla Baer assisted 20 times, and fellow setter Laney Dale assisted 19 while recording 14 digs for her third double-double.

The Belles are back to .500 on the season at 9-9. They are 5-1 in LSC play and sit in a three-way tie for second place with DBU and Texas A&M International. The Belles are back home next weekend for matches against Eastern New Mexico and Lubbock Christian.
