SAN ANTONIO – The Angelo State volleyball team dropped their match on Saturday afternoon against St. Mary's, falling in three sets to the Rattlers.
With the result, the Rambelles fall to 11-11 overall on the season and 7-3 in conference play.
A tight first set that started 7-all saw the Rattlers go on a 12-4 run to pull away and eventually claim the set 25-17.
The Belles' form continued into the beginning of the second set, falling behind 7-2; however, the Belles would rattle off the match's following nine points to retake the lead in the set. The Rattlers would mount a comeback to take the set 25-18.
The Belles stormed out to a lead in the third set, but a pair of Rattler runs totaling 9-0 swung the set, and the match, in favor of the hosts.
Kaila Garnett led all players with 11 kills in the match, with the southpaw hitting .269.
Hannah Kinnison added nine kills and six digs.
Kayla Baer assisted 14 times, while
Laney Dale added 11 assists. Libero
Ireland Ferguson led all players with 14 digs.
The Belles return home next weekend to face Texas A&M-Kingsville on Friday and Texas A&M International on Saturday.
