Rambelles to Recognize Eight Seniors in Sole Match of the Week

SAN ANGELO, Texas – The Angelo State women's soccer team will celebrate eight seniors this weekend before their only match this week on Saturday, Oct. 22nd against Texas Women's.

NEED TO KNOW
  • The Rambelles went 1-0-1 last week, beating Lubbock Christian 2-0 at home and drawing with UT Tyler 1-1 on the road.
  • Sophomore Grace Jordan now ranks fifth in the Lone Star Conference with seven goals on the season, her six game-winning goals are the best mark in the LSC.  
  • Valerie Solis leads the team with four assists, she holds the fourth-best mark in the conference.
  • Katelin Heise had a hat trick of sorts last week against LCU, she scored a goal, had an assist, and was shown a yellow card.
  • Kira Miller, the reigning Lone Star Conference goalkeeper of the year, has 50 saves on the season, she is 4 saves away from tying the ASU all-time record of 297 which is currently held by Lisa Carey and Becky Martin. She already holds the Belles all-time shutouts (37) and wins (54) titles.
  • Cassidy Hill scored her first goal of the season against UT Tyler, the defenseman pulled the Belles back from down 1-0 to earn a 1-1 draw.
  • Miller and backline staple Cassidy Hill were announced as LSC preseason Goalkeeper and Defender of the year, both for the second consecutive season.
  • Hill and Miller have each played all 1,350 minutes of the 2022 season.
  • Jordan and Miller earned LSC honors after wins against Eastern New Mexico and St. Mary's in match week five.
  • Hill was recognized as the LSC Defensive Player of the Week in match week four after shutting out both Texas A&M International and Oklahoma Christian.
  • Miller also earned LSC Goalkeeper of the Week honors after a shutout and six saves in match week two against Colorado School of Mines and Regis.
  • The Rambelles are set to celebrate eight players on Saturday for senior day: Mia Czarnecki, Katie Detmer, Cassidy Hill, Kira Miller, Cindy Rodriguez, Valerie Solis, Madison Stokes, and Reagan Urbany.
  • Czarnecki and Rodriguez have announced that they will be utilizing their COVID year, utilizing their extra season of eligibility.
  • Czarnecki and Hill were announced as captains for the 2022 campaign.
  • ASU returns 19 of 28 letterwinners from the 2021 season which saw them advance to the second round of the NCAA DII National Tournament.
  • The Belles have outscored their opponents 24-8 through 15 games, averaging 1.60 goals per contest, only allowing opponents 0.53, the second-best mark in the conference.
  • Head Coach Travis McCorkle enters his 15th season at the helm of the Belles program, looking to add more hardware following the team's second consecutive LSC Tournament Championship.
  • Assistant Coach Harold Muñoz enters his sixth season with the Belles, and Avery McNeme enters the coaching ranks as the Belles graduate assistant following five years on the pitch.

  • TWU brings a 1-7-6 record in to San Angelo. The Pioneers are currently 1-3-5 in conference play, sitting 10th.
  • The Rambelles hold the all-time series advantage over the Pioneers, 19-11-2, winning the most recent contest 1-0 last season in the conference tournament.
  • The Pioneers have drawn their last three contests, 0-0 at home against West Texas A&M, 1-1 at home against UT Tyler, and 1-1 on the road against Lubbock Christian.
  • TWU has been outscored 17-6 to this point in the season, with their only victory coming off a 1-0 road performance against Oklahoma Christian.
  • The Pioneers have four 1-1 draws on the season and two 0-0 draws.
  • Bri Luno leads TWU with two goals on the year, her five points are the most on the squad.
  • Morgan Sherman has three shutouts in her 14 games this season. She has made 72 saves, the second most in the LSC.

Mia Czarnecki | Attacking Midfielder | Austin, Texas
Has played in 50 matches for the Blue and Gold. Has two goals and three assists in her career. Majoring in international business. Announced that she will be utilizing her COVID eligibility and will return for the 2023 season.
 
Katie Detmer | Defensive Midfielder | San Antonio, Texas
Played in 38 games in her career to this point. Has one goal and two assists, one assist coming last week for the first goal against LCU.
 
Cassidy Hill | Central Defender | Forney, Texas
Played and started in 68 games for the Rambelles. Named the 2020 LSC Defender of the Year. Earned All-LSC first team honors in both 2020 and 2021. Was named to the United Soccer Coaches (USC) first team All-Region. Scored three goals to this point in her career, most recently last Saturday vs UT Tyler.
 
Kira Miller | Goalkeeper | Frisco, Texas
Currently holds a 54-19-6 record in her career. Her 54 wins and 37 clean sheets are the most in program history. Miller is currently chasing two separate records, the Angelo State all-time saves record of 297, she currently has 294 and the Lone Star Conference record for most shutouts all time. The current shutouts record is 40 and Miller has 37. Named the LSC Goalkeeper of the Year in 2021. Also awarded a first team All-Conference and second team All-Region nod.
 
Cindy Rodriguez | Wide Midfielder | Irving, Texas
Has appeared in 61 matches for the Rambelles. Has scored ten goals and earned nine assists in her time with the Blue and Gold. Currently has two goals and three assists this season. Announced that she will be utilizing her COVID eligibility and will return for the 2023 season. Was named to the All-LSC first team in 2020.
 
Valerie Solis | Attacking Midfielder | Arlington, Texas
Logged minutes in 63 matches for the Blue and Gold. Has scored 13 goals and has 17 assists, her 17 assists rank fifth most in ASU history. Currently ranks fourth in the conference with a team best four assists this season. Was named to the LSC All-Tournament team in 2020.
 
Madison Stokes | Defensive Midfielder | Amarillo, Texas
Has played in 66 matches for the Rambelles. Has logged four goals and four assists in her ASU career. Registered one goal so far this season, netting in the first match of the year against Colorado Christian. Was named to the All-LSC first team in 2020 and the ALL LSC third team in 2021. Placed on the LSC All-Tournament team in both 2020 and 2021.
 
Reagan Urbany | Forward | Austin, Texas
Played in 55 matches for the Blue and Gold. Has seven career goals and five career assists to this point. Has scored four goals this season, the most of any single season in her career, netting most recently against UT Permian Basin.
