Canyon, Texas – The Angelo State volleyball team saw their 2022 campaign end Thursday night inside "The Box" on the campus of West Texas A&M as they could not upset the Lady Buffs, falling in straight sets to the regular season champions.
The Rambelles finish the season with an 11-18 overall record.
All three sets featured the Belles scoring the first points of each frame, with the Belles jumping out to a 3-0 lead to kick off the match. However, a potent Lady Buff offense that hit .364 for the match proved too much for the Belles to handle.
Despite the defeat,
Kaila Garnett was the standout offensive player for the Belles, as the freshman buried seven kills on 11 attempts, not committing an error to hit .636 for the match.
Setter
Laney Dale assisted a match-high 20 times, her 12th time clearing 20 assists in a match this season. The Brock native also recorded six digs.
Caleigh Enax hit .273 for the match, burying four kills, assisting three times while adding in a pair of service aces, and leading the Belles with 11 digs.
In their final match in an ASU uniform,
Grace White and
Sydney Mundkowsky each recorded five kills, while
Katy Motz had six assists, seven digs, and an ace.
