SAN ANGELO, Texas – The fifth-ranked Angelo State baseball team clinched the series against UAFS on Saturday with a win in game three, defeating the Lions 13-3 at Crowder Field.
The win marks the fourth straight for the Rams as they improve to 5-2 overall and 5-2 in Lone Star Conference play while UAFS moves to 2-5, 2-5 LSC.
The Rams grabbed their first run of the game in the second inning, scoring on a wild pitch to before tacking on three more runs in the fourth inning.

Aaron Walters before
Austin Beck and
Reese Johnson hit back-to-back RBI singles to give ASU a 4-0 lead.
Benjamin Elder picked up his first win of the season to improve to 1-0 on the mound for the Rams. He tossed six innings of work with only two hits and an unearned run while striking out four batters.
Johnson collected another RBI in the sixth inning, hitting a single to center field while
Jordan Williams hit a two-RBI shot to right field to extend the lead to 7-0.
UAFS scored its first run in the bottom half of the sixth, singling through the right side to end the shutout.
The Rams poured on the runs in the top of the ninth, tallying six more. Lee started things off with a two-RBI single up the middle while Beck doubled to bring in two more. Johnson grounded out to score
Koby Kelton while
Hunter Townsend hit an RBI-single to bring home Beck.
Jesse Meyer pitched one inning of relief with one walk and two strikeouts while
Cody Kingman tossed two innings with two hits and two runs with three strikeouts.
The Lions added three runs of their own in the bottom half of the inning but couldn't overcome the offense by the Rams.
ASU had three players total three hits in the game in Williams, Lee, and Beck while both Lee and Beck finished with three RBIs.
The Rams and Lions will close out the series tomorrow with game four set to begin at 1 p.m.
