Canyon, Texas – The Angelo State women's basketball team fell on the road to West Texas A&M on Saturday, 61-47, to end the Belles' four-game winning streak.
The Belles struggled from the field, only shooting 28.8 percent from the field and making three of their 19 attempts from three-point range.
All 47 of the Belles' points came from their starting five, with two players scoring in double figures.
Madeline Stephens and
Tayjanna McGhee-Pleasant posted identical stat lines with 12 points and nine rebounds each. Additionally, Stephens recorded three blocks on the defensive side.
Payton Brown and
Blakely Gerber also posted matching score lines with eight points and six rebounds, with both also grabbing a steal on the defensive end.
Sawyer Lloyd scored seven points, adding in a pair of rebounds and assists in 26 minutes on the floor.
The Belles are now 9-11 on the season and 6-3 in conference play. They return to action next Thursday inside the Junell Center to host Texas A&M-Kingsville.
