#24 Belles Tennis Defeat #15 Nebraska-Kearney 6-1

SAN ANGELO – The Angelo State women's tennis team returned home for a matchup of ranked teams within the top 25 of the ITA rankings, and the Belles dominated #15 Nebraska-Kearney with a 6-1 win to improve to 7-2 overall on the season and 2-0 at home.

The Belles claimed the doubles point with a 7-6 victory though Eva Schwartz and Mieke Van Deventer at line three.

In singles play, the Belles claimed a pair of straight set victories and a trio of wins that took all three sets.

Valentina Gonzalez and Dianela Rodriguez took care of business on lines one and two, with Gonzalez winning 6-2, 6-4 while Rodriguez claimed her match 6-2, 6-3.

Ena Ovcina, Ayda Guler and Ramitha Irrinki would all win in three sets.

The Belles are back in action next week on the road for a trio of matches against Spring Hill, West Florida and #13 West Alabama.
