ABILENE, Texas – The Angelo State track & field teams wrapped up competition at the Wes Kittley Invitational, hosted by Abilene Christian on Saturday, collecting 10 top-three marks in the meet.
Abby Zamzow collected a first-place finish in the triple jump for the Belles, hitting a distance of 12.01m (39'-5") followed by
Allison Vaughn who took second at 11.75m (38'-6.75").
Also claiming first and second was Jennifer Batu and
Sara Ramos in the hammer throw respectively. Batu earned a throw of 53.98m (177'-1") while Ramos came in at the same distance, falling behind in the next best throw to Batu.
Talena Murray took first overall in the women's javelin, throwing a toss of 44.43m (145'-9").
On the men's side, the 4x100-meter relay team of
Emmett Seals Jr.,
Ja'Micah Polk,
Braden Jetton, and
David Morgan combined for a time of 40.83 to take second overall in the event.
Jacobee Jones took third overall in the men's pole vaults, clearing a height of 4.90m (16'-0.75").
Viktor Ertelt and
Luis Alvarado both finished top three in the javelin as Ertelt took second with a throw of 63.63m (208'-9") while Alvarado took third with a toss of 57.94m (190'-1").
The Rams and Belles are back in action next weekend as they compete at the Texas Relays on Mar. 23 in Austin, Texas.
