Lawton, Okla. – The Angelo State softball team struggled in their conference opener on Friday, only muster one run over two games against Cameron as the Rambelles dropped both games in their doubleheader.
The only two hits for the Rambelles in game one came from
Lindsey Evans and
Ashlynn Box, with
Ashlyn Lerma,
Paxton Scheurer,
Keilei Garcia and
Madison Fernandez also drawing walks.
The Cameron offense struck early and often, scoring in three of their four innings at bat as they run-ruled the Rambelles 9-0 in the first game.
The Aggies scored the first four runs of game two before the Rambelles scratched across their lone run through a Box groundout.
For the second game, the Rambelles got six hits from six different players, including a double from Scheurer to set up their lone run.
The Rambelles are now 15-3 on the season and 0-2 in conference play. They return to action tomorrow evening in Oklahoma City against #18 Oklahoma Christian, who themselves are coming off a pair of losses to Lubbock Christian.
