Frisco, Texas – The Angelo State women's basketball team, a team that had shown resilience all season long, showed it one final time on Friday night inside the Comerica Center against defending national champions Lubbock Christian, pushing the Lady Chaps to the brink but ultimately coming up short, falling 60-51 in the quarterfinals of the LSC Tournament.

A tight first quarter saw both teams struggle shooting from the field, with the Lady Chaps entering the second quarter with an 11-9 lead.
The defending national champions pulled out to as much as a ten-point lead in the second quarter while the Rambelles struggled, only shooting 33.3 percent from the field for the quarter. The Lady Chaps enter the intermission with a 25-17 lead.
The Rambelles clawed back slowly in the third quarter on the back of a 70 percent shooting effort from the field, including two makes from three. The quarter was punctuated by a
Payton Brown buzzer beater, an off-balanced shot from the elbow.
The Rambelles were only able to cut the lead to as little as six in the fourth quarter but were unable to make up the whole deficit.
Tayjanna McGhee-Pleasant ended her maiden season at Angelo State on a high note, scoring a season-high 19 points and grabbing 13 rebounds for her third double-double of the season. The Amarillo native ends the season with 11 straight games with ten or more points.
Brown joined her teammate as the only Rambelles in double figures, as well as the two Rambelles to not leave the court during the contest, with the Rambelles' point guard scoring 14 points on 5-of-9 shooting from the field.
Sawyer Lloyd only scored six points but assisted a game-high nine times;
Blakely Gerber scored eight points and grabbed two steals; and
Madeline Stephens grabbed five rebounds and four steals to go with four points on the evening.
