Wichita Falls, Texas – The Angelo State women's tennis team has their six-match winning streak ended in Wichita Falls at the hands of #21 Southwest Baptist on Saturday afternoon by a score of 4-2.
For the first time all season, the Belles did not claim the doubles point, with the Bearcats taking line two before
Mieke Van Deventer and
Eva Schwartz took their match on line three; the Bearcats would take line one in a tight tiebreaker.
The score was immediately equaled at 1-1 when a Bearcat had to withdraw from her singles match; the Bearcats would take lines one and four in singles play before
Dianela Rodriguez would win her match at line two in straight sets for the Belles second point.
The Belles are now 6-2 on the season and 1-0 in conference play. They return to action next week with a pair of home matches, hosting #3 Central Oklahoma and Nebraska-Kearney on Friday and Saturday, respectively.
