No.12 ASU Sweeps ENMU with 11-6 Win in Game Four

PORTALES, N.M. – The 12th-ranked Angelo State baseball team remained perfect on the road as the Rams completed the series sweep over Eastern New Mexico with an 11-6 win in game four at Greyhound Stadium.
 
The Rams are now 20-0 on the road as they improve to 32-10 overall and 30-10 in Lone Star Conference play.
 
For the fourth game in a two, the Rams were able to find a run in the first inning as Aaron Walters hit a double to right-center, scoring Koby Kelton who forced a walk during his at-bat.
 
The Greyhounds tied the game in the second inning with a triple before scoring three runs in the third off of three singles to take a 4-1 advantage, their first lead of the series.
 
In the fourth inning, Tayten Tredaway hit a sac-fly to center field to score Justin Lee while in the fifth, the Rams added a run off an error and a sac-fly by Kelton to tie the game.
 
Both teams tallied a run in the sixth inning, making it 5-5 with three innings to play.
 
Carson Childers started for ASU, going 2 1/3 innings with six hits, four runs, and four strikeouts. Kyle Moseley tossed 3 1/3 innings in relief, allowing one run on two hits with three strikeouts.
 
The Rams regained the lead in the seventh inning as Kelton hit another sac-fly followed by a triple down the left-field line from Lee to make it 7-5.
 
After ENMU tallied a run in the bottom of the seventh, the Rams put the game away in the ninth, scoring four runs. Jordan Williams forced a walk with bases loaded before Tredaway hit a bases-clearing double to give ASU a five-run lead.
 
Jackson Haga picked up the win as he improved to 5-1 on the season after throwing three 1/3 innings, allowing three hits and one run.
 
The Rams return home next weekend as they welcome Cameron for the final home series of the regular season beginning on Friday, April 22.
