#22 Belles Tennis' Season Ends at South Central Regional

Lawton, Okla. - Looking to replicate their win earlier this season on Cameron's home court, the Angelo State tennis team fought but came up short in the South Central Regional this afternoon, 4-1.

Seniors Valentina Gonzalez and Ena Ovcina won on line one for the Belles in doubles play; however, the Aggies won on courts two and three to claim the singles point.

Gonzalez fell in straight sets at line two in singles play as the Aggies doubled their lead.

Ovcina would take the first set at line three before dropping the following two sets, seeing the hosts extend their lead to 3-0.

Ayda Guler fought back from dropping her first set to force a third set in her singles match, which went unfinished.

Ramitha Irrinki (line six) and Dianela Rodriguez (line one) took the first set of their respective matches, with Rodriguez winning an 11-9 tiebreaker to do so and Irrinki claiming the lone Belles' point with a 6-1 win in her third set.

Rodriguez's match would also go unfinished, as the Aggies clinched the match at line four with a tiebreaker win in set two.

The Belles finish the season with a 16-8 overall record.
