SAN ANGELO – The Angelo State women's tennis team opened their season this weekend with their annual Slam Fest tournament, where they hosted the likes of Abilene Christian, Tarleton State, Texas State, and Southwestern to open the fall schedule.
True freshman
Christine Jevicky, in her first-ever college competition, went 3-0 in the Flight B Singles, with all three wins coming against D-I opponents.
Sophomore
Eva Schwartz took second place in Flight C Singles, while
Ramitha Irrinki also finished second in Flight D.
Esther Bowers and
Mieke Van Deventer shared first place in the Flight E Singles round-robin, both going 3-0.
Schwartz and Bowers took third place in Flight B on the doubles side.
The Rambelles are back in action in two weeks in Arlington to participate in the ITA South Central Regional Championships.
