SAN JOSE, Costa Rica - Former Angelo State women's soccer player Gabby Villagrand has signed a professional contract with Saprissa FF who plays out of the First Women's Division of Costa Rica.
Villagrand, a former forward for the Belles, scored two goals in her debut with the squad in their 5-1 win over Olimpia. Saprissa FF has a history of winning, earning the Women's Promerica League title in 2012, 2014, 2015, and 2018, while finishing runner-up in 2016, 2017, and 2019.
Since 2020, Villagrand has also competed for the Panama National Team, scoring three goals in eight matches.
Villagrand was named the Lone Star Conference Forward of the Year in her final season and scored 15 goals in her career, playing in 68 matches for the Belles.
