RAMS OPEN LSC ACTION LAST WEEK WITH A WIN OVER UTPB:
The Rams traveled for the second week in a row, defeating UT Permian Basin 34-21 in the first LSC game of the season. ASU jumped out to a 24-0 lead over the Falcons while
Nate Omayebu III collected two touchdowns and 171 all-purpose yards. Defensively, the Rams collected nine sacks in the game and three interceptions, including a 41-yard return for a touchdown. They also gave up only 12 rushing yards on the day for UTPB.

While the Buffs currently hold a two-game win streak over the Rams, ASU leads the all-time series between these two teams. Both squads split during the 2020 season, each taking a win a home while WT secured a win last year in Canyon on Homecoming night.

SCOUTING THE BUFFS:
- The Buffs enter the weekend with a 2-1 overall record, falling in their first LSC game last week to Texas A&M – Kingsville, 31-24.
- WT opened the season against two RMAC schools as well, defeating both Western Colorado and Adams State.
- The Buffs are currently second in the LSC in points per game, scoring an average of 34 points through three games while defensively they are allowing 18.7 points per game which ranks fourth.
- WT has the second most interceptions in the conference with five, tied with ASU.
- Jarrod Compton and Isaiah Smallwood lead the rushing attack for WT, totaling 187 and 141 yards respectively.
- Quarterback Nick Gerber is currently completing 57 percent of his passes with five touchdowns and four interceptions in three games.

CLIMBING IN THE RANKINGS:
For the third week in a row, the Rams have moved up in the NCAA Division II rankings as both the AFCA Coaches Poll and the D2Football.com Top 25 list the Rams at No. 4, earning the highest ranking in program history.

LEADING DEFENSIVELY:
The Rams hold the top-ranked defense in the Lone Star, allowing 251.7 yards per game. ASU has also recorded the most sacks in the conference with 11 and rank second in interceptions with five.
GETTING OFF THE FIELD:
ASU's defense ranks seventh in the nation in third-down defense, holding opponents to a conversion percentage of .209.

The Rams have collected 74 first downs in three games which is the third most in all of Division II.
