Rams, Rambelles Set to Host ASU Blue and Gold Classic

The Angelo State cross country teams are set to host and compete in the ASU Blue and Gold Classic in San Angelo on Oct. 11 with races starting at 5:10 p.m. 

The Competitors 

  • Angelo State, Hardin-Simmons, West Texas A&M, Sul Ross and Western Texas College are set to be the teams competing at the meet.  

The Belles 

  • The Belles finished eighth as a team in the Texas Tech Open, beating three LSC opponents in the process.  

  • In the Blue and Gold Classic last season, ASU took home a second-place team finish on their home course.  

  • Anna Eischen is the runner to watch for the Belles after her 26th place finish in Lubbock with a final time of 24:47.30. 

  • Mary Brown and Carley Thorton are also notable competitors for ASU with their respective 42nd and 43rd place finishes on the LCU Cross Country Course.  

The Rams 

  • In the 2022 Blue and Gold Classic, the Rams claimed a second-place finish, beating two LSC opponents on their home course.  

  • Trey Showen will be the runner to watch after his 84th place individual finish at the Texas Tech Open with a time of 28:22.70.  

  • Wesley Rogers is also a notable runner for the Rams after his 30:05.80 finish in Lubbock.
