DENTON, Texas - The Angelo State women's basketball team improved to 3-2 after defeating Western Colorado 64-55 at the TWU Conference Challenge Saturday afternoon.

The Rambelles improved to 3-2 on the season with the victory, while the Mountaineers fall to 0-2.

40 MINUTE RUNDOWN
- As the Rambelles and Mountaineers traded buckets for the majority of the first quarter, three-pointers by Madi Lumsden and Sawyer Lloyd saw the Rambelles extend the lead, 16-12 going into the second quarter.
- The Mountaineers would come out in the second quarter and tie the game 16-16.
- A three-ball by Tay McGhee-Pleasant at the 6:40 marker would tie the game 19-19.
- It would be very much back and forth through the second quarter until a jumper by Lloyd would extend the lead to 28-25.Â
- A jumper From Erika Lane of the Mountaineers with 11 seconds remaining in the second quarter would bring the lead to, 28-27 at halftime.
- Out of the break, the game started slow, with the Rambelles only making one out of their first nine shots.Â
- At the five-minute marker in the third quarter, the Ramblles would add a layup from Madeline Stephens to bring the lead to four,
- A layup from Lloyd and a three from Lumsden would bring the Rambelles lead to, 41-36 going into the final quarter.
- In the fourth quarter, seven points from McGhee-Pleasant and four points from Lumsden would put the game out of reach for the Mountaineers as they fell 64-55 at the TWU Challenge.

- McGhee-Pleasant led the way for the Rambelles, recording 16 points and five rebounds.
- The Belles had three different scorers in double digits: McGhee-Pleasant (16), Stephens (13), and Lumsden (11).
- Madeline Stephens had 13 points and team high eight rebounds and was also named to the All-Tournament Team.
- The Rambelles shot 32.4 percent (23-71) from the field, 33.3 percent (7-21) from the three-point line, and 73 percent (11-15) from the charity stripe.
- Western Colorado would outrebounded the Rambelles 49-40.
