Canyon, Texas – The Angelo State volleyball team's 2023 season ended on Friday evening inside The Box as the Rambelles fell in four sets to MSU Denver.
The Belles came out hot to claim the first set 25-23; 17 of the Belles' 25 points came on kills in the first set as they hit .237.
The Roadrunners rebounded to take the next three sets 25-20, 25-23, and 25-20.
For the match, the Belles out-dug the Roadrunners 63-54.
Hannah Kinnison and
Madi Parrish had 13 kills each; Kinnison hit .212 for the match, while Parrish recorded a team-high 16 digs for her second double-double in as many postseason matches.
Evelyn Torres had nine kills and 15 digs, while
Elsa Lamphere and
Hannah Spencer had six kills each.
In her final collegiate match, senior setter
Laney Dale led the Belles with 24 assists, also recording seven digs. Fellow senior
Marina Sanchez tallied a pair of kills, a block, and an ace in her final collegiate action.
Dale finished her career with 1,292 assists, sixth-most in program history in the rally-scoring era, while Sanchez had 215 kills and 153 blocks; she recorded a program-record 13 blocks against Lubbock Christian on September 10, 2022.
Sophomore setter
Kayla Baer had 21 assists off the bench, pitching in eight digs as well as a pair of service aces; libero
Caleigh Enax had ten digs in the match.
The Belles conclude the 2023 season with a 24-8 overall record, having gone 12-4 in LSC play this season.
