Wichita Falls, Texas – The Angelo State men's basketball team completed a nice 2-0 weekend on the road with a dominant, all-around performance as the Rams claimed a 69-55 win over Midwestern State on Saturday afternoon in a game in which they never trailed.
The win, their final road game of the regular season, sees the Rams conclude with a 9-3 road record.
The win sees the Rams improve their record to 20-5 on the season and 16-3 in conference play. The 16
th LSC marks the most wins Angelo State has recorded in conference play in the program's history.
The win saw the Rams culminate a dominant weekend defensively as they held their opponents to 56.5 points per game.
The Rams' defense also held the Mustangs to 42.3 percent shooting and forced the hosts into 15 turnovers. In the first half, the Rams held the Mustangs to 29.7 percent shooting.
Kevon Godwin poured in a game-high 17 points, making a trio of three-pointers. Godwin also grabbed four rebounds and assisted three times.
Devaughn Thomas added 14 points on 4-of-8 shooting and 5-of-6 from the free-throw line. He also grabbed four rebounds, two steals, and blocked a shot.
Willie Guy scored nine points, while
Steve Webb and
Reggie Quezada scored eight.
The Rams are back home for their last three games of the season, hosting DBU and UT Tyler next weekend before ending against UT Permian Basin the following Thursday.
