SAN ANGELO, TEXAS– The Angelo State women's tennis team swept UT Permian Basin 6-1 on Thursday afternoon at the ASU Tennis Complex.
The Belles clinched the doubles point with a win in line one by
Ayda Guler and
Ramitha Irrinki as well as a win in line two by
Esther Bowers and
Eva Schwartz.
In singles,
Letizia Corsini took line two by a score of 6-2, 6-2, while
Eva Schwartz won line four 6-3, 6-1. At the fifth spot,
Ayda Guler won her singles match 6-4, 6-2, and
Ramitha Irrinki took line six 6-3, 6-4.
Dianela Rodriguez won the tiebreaker at the No. 1 spot, 10-8 for the final point.
The Belles are back on the road Saturday to play Delta State in McKinney, Texas at 3 p.m. to close out the weekend.
