Oklahoma City, Okla. – The Angelo State softball team fell in their series finale 2-1 against 25
th-ranked Oklahoma Christian on Sunday afternoon, as the tightly-contested affair saw the Rambelles only muster two hits.
The Rambelles' first hit came in the fourth inning off the bat of
Bailey Martinez, a solo home run, the first of the season from the senior first baseman.
The next batter,
Ashton McMillan, singled to represent the Rambelle offense against Eagles' ace Jill Dickson.
The Eagles scored in the first inning on a solo home run and scored the winning run in the bottom of the sixth on an RBI groundout.
Martinez was the only Rambelle in the lineup to reach base more than once, also drawing a walk.
Genesis Armendariz started the game in the circle, allowing five hits and two runs in 5.1 innings of work;
Cheyenne Floyd pitched the final 0.2 innings in relief.
The Rambelles are 18-11 on the season and are 10-8 in conference play; they are back in action on Friday when they welcome Eastern New Mexico into Mayer Field.
