No. 3 Rams Down UAFS 15-2 in Seven Innings

SAN ANGELO, Texas – The third-ranked Angelo State baseball team opened the series against UAFS with a seven-inning victory, downing the Lions 15-2 at Foster Field at 1st Community Credit Union Stadium on Friday night.

With the win, the Rams improve to 14-3 overall and in Lone Star Conference play. Tonight's win was the 700th victory for Head Coach Kevin Brooks in his time at ASU.

After a couple of errors by the Rams, UAFS took an early 1-0 lead in the first inning.

The Rams responded in the bottom of the second, scoring six runs in the inning. Austin Beck earned a bases-loaded walk for the first run before Jacob Guerrero singled and Weston Valasek hit a two-RBI double. A wild pitch scored one for ASU while Thomas Cain hit a sac fly to center field for the final run of the inning.

UAFS cut into the lead in the third, scoring one run on a single to make it 6-2.
