ARLINGTON, Texas – The #4 Angelo State women's tennis team came up just short in the championship match of the Lone Star Conference Tournament, falling to the #3 St. Mary's Rattlers on Saturday afternoon at the Arlington Tennis Center. 
 
The Belles took an early 1-0 lead after securing the doubles point in the championship match against the Rattlers. Letizia Corsini and Dianela Rodriguez won line three 6-4 and Eva Schwartz and Mieke Van Deventer won line two 6-4 to take the lead.
 
Ramitha Irrinki won line five 6-1, 6-2 to gain another point for the Belles. Christine Jevicky fought hard in line four but fell after winning the first set with a score of 2-6, 7-5, 6-4. The Belles Eva Schwartz was up in the third set of line three with a score of 7-5, 5-7, 3-1, but the match went unfinished as the Rattlers clinched the win.

 Earning the 2023 LSC Women's Tennis Championship All-Tournament team was Dianela Rodriguez and Eva Schwartz.

The Belles will look to the NCAA regional selection show which will air Monday, April 24th at 7:30 p.m. on NCAA.com to determine their next match.
