Rambelles Pick Up Pair of Wins at Skyhawks Invitational

Durango, Colo. – The Angelo State volleyball team continued their winning ways into the first day of the Skyhawks Invitational, picking up a pair of four-set wins over RMAC opposition in CSU Pueblo and Fort Lewis.

The Belles cruised to sets one and two victories over the Thunderwolves, hitting .482 for the first two sets; however, the Thunderwolves jumped out to a 4-0 lead in set three, and despite a Belles comeback, the Belles dropped their first set all season; however, they bounced back to close out the match in four sets.

Four Belles – Hannah Kinnison, Marina Sanchez, Evelyn Torres, and Madi Parrish – recorded ten or more kills, and all four players hit over .200 for the match.

It's the first match that four Belles had ten or more kills this season and the first time they have done so since their match against Oklahoma Christian on October 29th of last season.

Sanchez led the Belles with a .545 attack percentage on 13 kills, also recording four blocks, while Kinnison's 15 kills came at a .414 clip.

Torres set her personal high in an ASU uniform with 12 kills – her second match in a row in double digits. She also recorded the first double-double for the Belles this season with ten digs.
Parrish set a career-high with ten kills; she notched seven digs defensively.

Libero Caleigh Enax led all players with 16 digs, while setters Laney Dale and Alli Fitzpatrick tallied 29 and 20 assists, respectively.

A more tightly contested match against the hosts Fort Lewis awaited the Belles in their second match; the Belles picked up set one before the Skyhawks dominated the second set. The Belles grabbed sets three and four in two of the tightest sets the Belles have played in this season.

Kinnison led all players with 15 kills, her second-straight match with 15 or more kills. Torres and Cate Boldrick each contributed nine kills, with Torres recording 11 digs while Boldrick didn't commit a single attack error, hitting .450 for the match.

Four Belles – Enax, Torres, Ireland Ferguson, and Dale – each had ten or more digs, with Enax leading with 16 while Torres and Ferguson had 11 each and Dale added in ten.

With her ten digs and 27 assists, Dale notched her first double-double of the season and the seventh of her career.

The Belles improve to 7-0 on the season; last season, it took the Belles 15 matches to record seven wins. They close their weekend at the Skyhawks Invitational tomorrow with matches against East Central and Southwestern Oklahoma.
