Grace Jordan would get the first shot of the contest for the Rambelles after a nice cross from Sanai Stewart where the ball would be just off target resulting in a corner kick for Midwestern State.

Angelo State didn't wait long as Sanai Stewart once again got the Rambelles a 1-0 lead after cutting into the box off the right flank and sending the ball over the goalkeeper into the back of the net in the 20th minute.

During the next eight minutes of action, the Mustangs recorded two corner kicks that would be cleared by the top defense in the Lone Star Conference.

The Newcomer of the year in the LSC Nyxalee Munoz would have the final shot of the half from way outside the box that would sail over the goal ending the first half.

At half both teams would have four shots to this point in the contest with two being on target for the Rambelles and zero being on target for the Mustangs.

In the second half of the contest, the Rambelles would come out firing three shots within the first five minutes of action.

A diving save in the 53rd minute by Amber Lockwood would keep the Rambelles ahead 1-0.

In the 58th Minute Marble Pruter of Midwestern State recorded back-to-back yellows within two minutes resulting in a red card giving the Rambelles an 11-10 player advantage.

The Rambelles capitalized on that advantage when Sanai Stewart would find the back of the net in the 64th minute giving the Rambelles a 2-0 advantage with about 25 minutes remaining in the contest.

The Rambelles will take on DBU in the LSC Tournament Championship on Sunday Nov. 17th  with kickoff scheduled for 1 p.m.

From Travis McCorkle: Q: What are your thoughts on tonight's win? "It was an improvement from when we played this team in the second game of conference play. In the first match up, we were missing some people you want to use that as an excuse. In this match up with everyone you can tell people like Grace Jordan and Madison Bourzikas were more comfortable and that opened up more space for Sanai. The first goal from her gave us an advantage, and how she was playing I was saying she is going to score again, she is going to score again. With 14 shots in the game, I would like to get more goals off of those shots, but I am happy to walk out of here with two and the shutout. Q to Madison Maxey: The team has been pretty dominant at home during your time here what can you contribute to the success? "I think it's all the traditions that we have in the locker room and what we do beforehand. Playing at home is our most confident self no matter the stakes or how nervous we are play the best at home because it is home to us. It is also nice to play in front of our fans and we are lucky to play in the atmosphere that they create. Q to Sanai Stewart: What did you see on your run and when you got the ball just right outside the box? " I practice it all the time just the cut-back move that I did. I saw the back line dropping so I cut back and used my peripheral vision to aim at the back frame and it was perfect. Q to the players: You are one win away from a conference tournament championship to go with your regular season championship what does the team have to do from your standpoint to get it done? "Stick with the traditions in the locker room, we need to play for ourselves and our fans, and I think our hard work is going to pay off in the end. Coaches Answer: DBU is always a really good opponent it is going to be nice to play them at home, we have progressed as a team since the last time we played them I told the girls about a month ago there is something about this team that could be special. I hope the girls don't view the match as one more step I hope they view it as the next step, so when we get into the NCAA Tournament we can make some noise in that.
