From Travis McCorkle, Katelin Heise, and Abby James: Q: Thoughts on the match?
T: "Difficult we know they are a good team, they are so good on the ball they like to knock it around it is a very attractive style of play. When DBU got that first goal, we thought that we should have had one because we created so many chances. It was great to see Graycen come in and get us that tying goal, and Abby winning it for us in overtime. We practice that exact play a thousand times in practice, Abby is supposed to expect people to miss and they did then as cool as a cucumber she knocked it into the back of the goal to give us the win.
Q: With Graycen being out most of the year and you subbing in her late and her getting that tying goal what did she bring to the field in that moment? T: Experience, Technical Ability you saw the team was so excited for her when she scored that goal she got the goal and she is going to be able to remember that forever.
Q: What was the message at halftime when y'all were aggressive early on and the ball just wasn't going your way?Â
K: "We have been in this position before going down one zero and coming back in the second half there are 45 minutes left we can still do this. One of our quietest players came in and said we have it. Then Travis came in and said we got this we just need one to fall. This team responds well when we believe in something and when we have that excitement knowing that we can do it."
Q Abby, you scored the game-winning goal down in Laredo earlier in the season and then you scored the winning goal here tonight is there something that you think about when these opportunities arise? A: "I just play it out and see what happens, I just do what I know how to do and just put it in the back of the net.Â
