Rambelles Travel to Oklahoma to Take on Southern Nazarene

SAN ANGELO, Texas - The Angelo State women's basketball team travels to Oklahoma to take on Southern Nazarene on Nov.26th.
 
The Rambelles are currently 2-2 overall and 0-1 in conference action.

  • Madeline Stephens is leading the team in points averaging 13.8 PPG.
  • The freshman Majik Esquivel is second in scoring averaging 10.3 PPG.
  • Esquivel recorded her career high in points with 18 in her first LSC game against UTPB.
  • Keniah Williams is tied for first in the conference with eight blocks.
  • Every player for the Rambelles has recorded a point, rebound, or an assist this season.
  • The Blue and Gold added Stephanie Ruiz to the coaching staff as an assistant coach after two years at Adams State where the Grizzlies went 41-19 with her on the coaching staff.
  • The Rambelles returned five members from last year's squad and added five freshmen and four transfers to the fold.
  • Landry Morrow and Madeline Stephens are the only returning starters from last year's team. 
  •  Stephens was named to the LSC Preseason Players to Watch list after her All-LSC Second Team Selection last season where she averaged 13.3 PPG and 7.7 rebounds. 
  • A familiar face to the Rambelles Lauren Catherman transfers in from St. Edward's from her time as a Hilltopper she accumulated 208 steals placing her third in program history and was sixth in the conference averaging 2.2 steals a contest. 
  • Keniah Williams is one of the five returners and is looking to have a bigger role this year after being named the starting center for the Rambelles. Last year she led the conference in blocks with 56. 
  • ASU was picked to finish sixth in the LSC preseason poll. Texas Woman's Lubbock, Christian, UT Tyler, UT Permian Basin, and West Texas A&M rounded out the top five.

  • Southern Nazarene leads the all-time series 1-0 after defeating the Rambelles 52-43 on Nov. 20th, 2021.
  • Southern Nazarene was predicted to finish second in the Great American Conference, behind Harding.
  • The Crimson Storm is currently 2-3 overall heading into the match-up with Angelo State.
  • This season Southern Nazarene is averaging 58.6 PPG, while the defense is allowing 64 PPG.
  • Hannah Giddey is leading the way for the Crimson Storm as she is averaging 17.8 PPG and 7.6 rebounds. 
  • This will be the second match up between the two teams.
