Rambelles Struggle Offensively, Lose to Southern Nazarene 67-54

Bethany, Okla. - The Angelo State women's basketball team got off to a slow start in their game Tuesday afternoon against Southern Nazarene, only scoring five points in the opening quarter inside the Sawyer CenterĀ

With the loss the Rambelles fall to 2-3 overall, while the Crimson Storm improve to 3-3 with the victory.

  • The Rambelles would only record five points in the first quarter of action with Majik Esquivel knocking down two jumpers from the elbow and knocking one down from the free throw line.
  • Madeline Stephens recorded 10 rebounds in the first quarter
  • Esquivel would open the second quarter with a three at the 9:27 marker to bring the Rambelles deficit to 13-8.
  • Another three from Esquivel brought the Rambelles within one,17-16, with seven minutes remaining until halftime.
  • Southern Nazarene would go on a 15-1 run extending their lead to 32-17 going into half time.
