Rambelles Travel to Oklahoma to Take on Oklahoma Christian, Cameron

SAN ANGELO, Texas - The Angelo State women's basketball team hits the road as they take on Oklahoma Christian on Saturday, Dec. 14th inside the Payne Athletic Center.
 
The Rambelles are 4-3 overall and 2-1 in Lone Star Conference action.

  • Keniah Williams leads the team in double-doubles with three, after her 11-point and 11 rebounds performance against Texas A&M - International.
  • Madeline Stephens leads the team in scoring averaging 14.4 PPG, and is second on the team averaging nine rebounds a game.
  • Majik Esquivel scored a career-high 19 points against Southern Nazarene.
  • Esquivel is averaging 12.0 points per game leading all the newcomers.
  • Williams is third in the conference in blocks with 12 averaging 1.7 per contest, Williams is also second in rebounding in the conference averaging 9.3 rebounds a contest.

  • Landry morrow and Madeline Stephens are the only returning starters from last year's team.
  • Stephens was named to the LSC Preseason Players to Watch list after her All - LSC Second Team Selection last season where she averaged 13.3 points and 7.7 rebounds.
  • A familiar face to the Rambelles, Lauren Catherman transfers in from St. Edward's. During her time as a Hilltopper, she accumulated 209 steals, placing her third in program history and sixth in the conference, averaging 1.1 steals a contest.
  • Keniah Williams is one of the five returners and is looking to have a bigger role this year after being named the starting center for the Rambelles. Last year she led the conference in blocks with 56.
  • ASU was picked to finish sixth in the LSC preseason poll. Texas Woman's, Lubbock Christian, UT Tyler, UT Permian Basin, and West Texas A&M rounded out the top five.

  • ASU leads the all-time series 6-2, winning the last matchup 81-62 on Dec.9th, 2023.
  • The Eagles are sixth in the East Division, with a 3-3 overall record, and are 0-2 in conference action.
  • Kate Bradley leads the Eagles in scoring averaging 13.2 points a contest.
