No. 7 Belles' Historic Season Ends in National Semifinals

Sioux Falls, S.D. – The Angelo State volleyball fought till the bitter end, featuring a ferocious comeback in the fourth set, but saw their historic season end in the Final Four of the Division II Volleyball Championship on Friday afternoon inside the Sanford Pentagon at the hands of San Francisco State.

The Rambelles won set one 25-21 before the Gators fought back to win the following three sets: 25-19, 25-23, and 25-22.

The Belles got off to a hot start, only committing one attacking error in the opening frame as they hit .333.

Madi Parrish led the Belles with 14 kills, recording ten digs for a double-double.

Evelyn Torres had 11 kills, Sydney Thornton added eight and Demi Carter had seven.

Adeline Ortman assisted 42 times and had a trio of aces, while libero Caleigh Enax recorded 39 digs, her third career match with 30 or more digs. The 39 digs are tied for second-most in a single match in program history. Enax finshes her career ranked third in career digs at Angelo State. 

Hannah Spencer had six kills on nine swings. Cate Boldrick led the Belles with four blocks, Carter and Thornton added three, and Ortman and Parrish had two blocks each.

The Belles end their season with a 32-3 record, having won the LSC Tournament and the South Central Regional.
